Are you sick of being sick, tired of being tired, had enough of mediating arguments between your kids (or adult friends)?  You are not alone!  Statistics show Australians suffer from many conditions that we know can be improved by avoiding nasty additives in your diet.

According to the ABS National Health Survey 2017-18:

  • 1 in 5 Australians (4.8 million people, 20.1%) experienced mental health and behavioural conditions – this was the most commonly reported chronic condition in 2017-18
  • Around 1 in 8 Australian adults (13%) experienced high to very high levels of psychological distress (ie nervousness, agitation, psychological fatigue and depression)
  • 2.7 million Australians (11.2%) suffered from chronic asthma (12.1% of boys aged and 7.9% of girls aged under 15 years)

Other sources show that:

  • 1 in 7 Australian children aged 4-17 years old met the criteria for a diagnosis of a mental disorder (2015, Beyond Blue)
  • 19.9% of all young people in Australia (11-17 years) had high or very high levels of psychological distress (2015, Beyond Blue, WA report)
  • 4% of the Australian students have a diagnosed learning disability, with 10-16% of students perceived by their teachers as having learning difficulties (Learning Difficulties Australia)
  • 1 in 20 Australian children has symptoms of ADHD (ADHD Australia)

And these statistics don’t include the children (and adults) who have never been diagnosed or are “on the borderline” of a diagnosis.

Symptoms of ADHD, Autism, Hyperactivity, Asthma, Rashes, Recurring Colds, Headaches/Migraines, Eczema, Anxiety, Depression, Learning Delays, Restlessness, Difficulty Concentrating, Fighting with Siblings, Sleeping Problems, Irritability, Tantrums, Grumpiness, Irritable Bowel, Bedwetting, Motor and Verbal Tics and many more, in children and adults, can be the result of a food intolerance reaction to food additives or natural food chemicals.

Symptoms can be improved or eliminated by avoiding some additives, and in extreme cases, reducing natural food chemicals such as salicylates, amines and glutamates.  By making simple changes to your diet and the products you purchase, you can bring wellness to your family, school or workplace.

Nasty additives can be found in many products from sugary treats such as lollies and soft drinks, to healthy foods such as yoghurts and dips.
